My AI Use Policy

Dear Readers,

I find it necessary in the age of ever expanding Artificial Intelligence use and honestly, over use, to publicaly state for the record how I make my content. Think of this as my policy for using AI concerning my public writing.

I do not use AI to write my content. Let me explain further.

I do not/will not use AI to generate written content that I publish under my name, as if suggesting I wrote it without aid. I also do not/will not use AI to conduct the full scope of research that readers would reasonable expect I have done myself. I do not/will not use AI to substantially edit and rephrase my content so as to blur the line between human-generated or artificially generated.

I want my readers to have full confidence that my writing is truly my own generated work.

When might I use AI?

I am not a never AI person. Let me explain when I might use AI as it relates to this website's content.

I often use a service like Grammarly to review my writing and point out errors of grammar. However, I do not use Grammarly's AI rephrasing suggestions.

I sometimes might use AI (such as Chat GPT) to generate an image to represent a concept releated to a post. This will be rare though.

I sometimes might use AI to help me form or brush up the aesthetics of a data chart or graph. But in these instances, AI will not have generated any data. Rather, AI may be used for aesthetic forming and editing of data to make a clean presentation to readers.

I sometimes may use AI (such as Claude or Consensus) to pull legitimate sources for me so that I can begin my own research on the topic. Think of this as using AI for a research starter. But I will never use AI to do my research for me. I sometimes use Consensus in particular to pull legitimate academic sources that pertain to my chosen research topic, so that I can have a good starting point to begin checking the sources for myself.
